The purpose of the Denton Utility Commission
is to provide independent and representative review of water, sewer,
stormwater, and highway issues that have a significant impact on rates
and customer service on behalf of the Denton Town Council and for
the benefit of customers.
The Denton Utility Commission operates as an
advisory board to the Town Council. The Commission will make recommendations
to the Town Council with the goal of ensuring that the impact on Town
citizens and customers is appropriately considered in setting rates
and making related policy decisions. The Director of Public Works
will serve as an ex officio member and as liaison to the Town Council.
The Commission shall select a Chairperson and
other officers and establish such administrative procedures subject
to the approval of the Denton Town Council. All changes in the administrative
procedures are likewise subject to the approval of the Denton Town
Council.
