After the subgrade has been properly prepared and approved by the town
authority, a subbase course shall be spread evenly thereon so that thickness
after compaction shall be eight inches for town and private roads and six
inches for common driveways in a DRD. The subbase course shall be thoroughly
rolled with an approved roller weighing not less than 10 tons. All high spots
shall be eliminated and depressions shall be filled with subbase-course material
and rerolled until the required line and grade is obtained in accordance with
approved plans and construction details. Subbase course shall be rolled until
there is no weaving under the roller. Subbase-course material shall conform
to the New York State Department of Transportation Specifications, Item 304-05,
Type 4. The entire subbase course shall extend under the shoulder beyond the
curb as shown on the construction details.
