The Township Committee shall exercise the legislative and executive
functions necessary to the existence and welfare of the Township.

The Township Committee shall fix the schedule of regular meetings
of the Township Committee at its annual meeting.

The Township Committee shall appoint, from its own membership,
standing committees to have general cognizance and supervision over
the principal subjects of municipal jurisdiction. Said standing committees
shall be designated by and appointments thereto shall be made by the
Chairperson of the Township Committee.

At its annual meeting, the Township Committee shall elect one
of its number as Chairperson of the Township Committee. The Chairperson
of the Township Committee shall preside at all meetings of the Committee
and shall be known as the "Mayor" of the Township. The Mayor shall
have no additional authority by virtue of such designation, except
as otherwise provided by law.

At its annual meeting, the Township Committee shall elect one
of its number as Deputy Chairperson of the Township Committee. The
Deputy Chairperson of the Township Committee shall preside at all
meetings of the Committee in the absence of the Chairperson and shall
be known as the "Deputy Mayor" of the Township. The Deputy Mayor shall
have no additional authority by virtue of such designation, except
as otherwise provided by law.

The Township government shall, in addition to the Township Committee,
consist of the offices, departments, boards, commissions and other
bodies and appointive positions provided for in this chapter or otherwise
required or authorized pursuant to statute or other ordinances of
the Township.

The municipal offices shall be open for business as set forth
by the Township Committee. The office hours for the Department of
Public Works are between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., except on Saturdays,
Sundays, and legal holidays.
All moneys, including moneys collected from taxation and from
fees prescribed by ordinance, received from any source by or on behalf
of the Township shall be paid to the Township Treasurer in accordance
with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:5-5.
