The Borough Council is hereby empowered to establish
by resolution, and from time to time amend, rules and regulations
to institute and maintain a physical fitness program for every member
of the Oaklyn Borough Police Department.

Said program, when instituted, shall give due consideration
to a reasonable period of time for every member of the Department
to comply with all rules and regulations and shall give due consideration
to age, officers with certified medical disabilities or any other
cases of any unique nature. Said rules and regulations shall provide
that failure to comply with an acceptable level of fitness may result
in disciplinary action or have a negative impact on promotional opportunities
and assignments.
