No person shall engage in the practice or business of plumbing unless
such person holds a Master Plumber's License issued by the State of New Jersey,
pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 45:14C-1 et seq., nor shall any person
not the holder of such a license engage in or carry on or represent himself
as engaging in or carrying on the practice of plumbing as a master plumber,
nor shall any person not the holder of such a license use the words "master
plumber," "plumber" or "plumbing" or any other term in any advertisement or
display a sign to indicate, imply or designate him as engaging in the practice
of plumbing. This section shall not prevent a person from doing plumbing in
a single-family dwelling used exclusively for living purposes, including the
usual accessory buildings and quarters in connection with such building, provided
that such person is the bona fide owner and occupant of such dwelling and
said owner personally performs all labor in connection therewith and obtains
an owner's plumbing permit.
