[Adopted by Ord. No. 99-24 (Sec. 3-28 of the 1975 Code)]
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
DETACHABLE TRAILER
A vehicle of any size or shape on wheels or other means of support which is without an engine or other power source, but is capable of being transported upon the streets by attachment to a motor vehicle or by the application of some other separate independent power source.
No person shall park, store, or suffer or permit the parking or storage of any detachable trailer of any type or description upon the public streets, alleys or parking lots of the Township of Lower for a period in excess of 48 hours, except as hereinafter set forth.
The following detachable trailer parking shall be permitted:
A. 
Parking upon municipal lots where specifically authorized by resolution of the Township Council or properly designated by signs or otherwise at the parking lot.
B. 
Parking of a trailer used in connection with authorized construction or demolition projects, but only until such construction or demolition project has been completed. Such trailer shall not be parked in accordance with this subsection more than five days prior to commencement of any such project and shall be removed within 10 days after completion of the project.
Any detachable trailer parked upon the public streets, alleys or parking lots shall be equipped with at least two reflectors on each side of the detachable trailer which faces oncoming traffic, which reflectors shall be of sufficient size and reflecting ability to give adequate warning of the location of the trailer during the evening hours.
Any detachable trailers found parked or stored upon the public streets, alleys or parking lots in violation of the provisions of this article may be towed by the Township to a place of safe-keeping, and shall be returned to the owner thereof upon completion of the proceedings in the appropriate court, and upon payment of the reasonable fees in connection with towing and storage thereof.
Any person who violates the provisions of this article shall be subject to a fine as set forth in Chapter 1, Article III, General Penalty.
Nothing in this article shall amend, supersede, or otherwise alter the provisions of Chapter 213, Private Campgrounds, Chapter 612, Trailer Camps, Chapter 617, Article I, Storage of Trailers and Camp Cars, or Chapter 617, Article II, Trailer Regulations, of the Code of the Township of Lower.
