An ordinance to limit and restrict to specified
districts or zones, and to regulate therein, buildings and structures
according to their construction and the nature of and the extent of
their use, and the nature and extent of the uses of land, in Pen Argyl
Borough, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, hereinafter referred to
as the "Borough" and providing for the administration and enforcement
of the provisions therein contained and fixing penalties for the violation
thereof.
This chapter shall be known and may be cited
as the "Pen Argyl Borough Zoning Ordinance of 1997."
The provisions of this Zoning Ordinance are
designed for the following purposes:
A. To promote, protect and facilitate the following:
the public health, safety, morals, general welfare, coordinated and
practical community development, proper density of population, the
provisions of adequate light and air, police protection, vehicle parking
and loading space, transportation, water, sewerage, schools, public
grounds and other public requirements; as well as
B. To prevent the following: overcrowding of land, blight,
danger and congestion in travel and transportation, loss of health,
life or property from fire, flood, panic and other dangers. This Zoning
Ordinance is made in accordance with an overall program, and with
consideration for the character of Pen Argyl Borough, its various
parts and the suitability of the various parts for particular uses
and structures.
This Zoning Ordinance is based upon the objectives,
analysis and recommendations of the Comprehensive Plan for Pen Argyl
Borough.
