The Health Officer shall perform all of the duties prescribed by Acts of Assembly of the commonwealth, as well as all ordinances of the City, and such other duties as shall be imposed upon him by resolution of the Council from time to time.
The Health Officer shall be a person with some experience or training in public health work, in accordance with rules and regulations of the Advisory Health Board of the State Department of Health, and who shall not enter upon his duties until he has been certified for the office of Health Officer by the State Department of Health.

The City Health Officer shall receive, as his compensation, an annual salary, the amount of which shall be established from time to time by the Council.
