As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
FALSE ALARM
Any burglary, holdup, carbon monoxide detector, or fire alarm
received from an alarm system and transmitted to the Police or Fire
Department and, upon response by the appropriate personnel, it is
determined that no actual burglary, holdup, carbon monoxide problem
or fire had occurred.

Emergencies shall be a defense to any charge
under this article that the false alarm was caused by a public emergency.
All charges hereunder shall be paid within 30
days after the user is sent a bill by the appropriate Borough official.
In the event that any individual, partnership
or corporation shall fail to pay the charges in a timely manner, the
Borough shall have the right to:
A. Sue the individual, partnership or corporation for
the appropriate charges together with attorneys' fees and costs; and
B. The right to terminate any service to said individual,
partnership or corporation in regard to their alarm systems.
