It shall be the duty and responsibility of the
owner of any lot fronting upon any public street, alley, park or place
within the Town to maintain the entire width of the sidewalk in front
of the premises and street crossing access on any corner lot free
and clear from snow, ice and other obstructions. Such removal shall
be completed by 6:00 p.m. the day following the accumulation of snow
or other obstruction. In the event of a continuous long-term snowfall
and drifting of snow, removal shall be completed at a minimum of twenty-four-hour
intervals.
After notice by certified mail with return receipt
requested to the owner of a lot or parcel, the Town shall clear the
area affected, and the cost of such removal will be levied on the
next Town and county tax bill.
