A sketch of the proposed driveway shall be submitted with each permit application using the diagram indicated on the reverse side. The drainage flow involved shall also be indicated.
Where curbs occur it is necessary to provide curb cuts with tapered sections at ends. Where drainage is carried along the curb, the driveway shall be constructed with a short upgrade at start of same.
A driveway must be constructed so that it does not adversely affect the street or highway drainage. The drainage collected by ditches, gutters or pipes on private property shall not be discharged in highway drainage system.
Where the construction of a driveway necessitates crossing a highway ditch, a culvert pipe made of corrugated metal may be installed in the ditch by the permittee. Under no circumstances will existing ditches or gutters be filled without adequate provisions for alternate drainage being provided. Culvert pipe shall be of a size adequate to carry the anticipated flow in the ditch; the culvert shall not be smaller than 12 inches I.D.
Removal and replacement of sidewalks, if required, will be done at the owner's expense.
