From and after the passage of this chapter, the owners of houses
and buildings in the Borough of Eddystone are hereby directed to renumber
said houses and buildings, and the following directions and rules
are hereby prescribed for renumbering the same.
The numbering of houses on streets running east shall be from
the Borough line. One hundred numbers shall be allotted for each square,
the odd numbers to be on the south side and the even numbers on the
north side of said streets.
The numbering of houses on streets running northwardly shall
be from the first street running parallel to the river and running
east and west. One hundred numbers shall be allotted for each square,
the odd numbers on the west; side and the even numbers on the east
side of said streets.

On streets where vacant lots exist, one number shall be allotted
to every 18 feet of ground fronting on said street.

Any property owner or owners failing to comply with the provisions
of this chapter within 60 days from notification shall, upon conviction
before any District Justice, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more
than $600 and costs of prosecution and, in default thereof, to imprisonment
in the county jail for a term not to exceed 30 days, for each building
and house so neglected to be renumbered by him/her or them as aforesaid.
The Borough shall, at the expense of the owner or owners and in addition
to said fine hereby imposed, have said houses or buildings renumbered,
and the cost shall be collected from said owner or owners as amounts
are now recoverable by suits at law.
