Words and phrases as used in this article shall
have the meanings ascribed to them in the Vehicle Code of Pennsylvania.
The Mayor is hereby authorized to designate
such regulation of traffic by peace officers as he deems necessary
for the safety and welfare of the Borough.
The Council shall, subsequent to the passage
of this article, by resolution, order the erection and use of official
traffic signals at such locations or intersections as it shall deem
necessary for the proper regulation of traffic.
Any violation of any provision of any resolution
adopted pursuant to this article shall be deemed a violation of this
article.
Any person who shall violate any provision of
this article for which there is no specific penalty provided in the
Vehicle Code of Pennsylvania shall, upon conviction thereof for each
violation, be subject to a fine of not more than $50, plus costs of
prosecution. In default of the payment of said fine plus costs, said
person shall be sentenced to the county jail for a period not exceeding
10 days.
