Any building other than a residential building of less than six units which has an approved fire alarm system or other fire protection system, shall provide a secure key box installed in a location accessible to the Stoughton Fire Department in case of emergency. This key box shall contain keys to the fire alarm control panels and other keys necessary to operate or service the fire protection system. The key box shall be a type approved by the Fire Chief and shall be located and installed as directed by the Fire Chief.
A. 
The owner of any unoccupied, abandoned, or otherwise vacant property shall, within 30 days of said vacancy, notify the Stoughton Fire Department of such conditions. Copies of floor plans of the structure shall be provided at this time. Doors and windows shall be secured with due diligence, to prevent unauthorized access by the public.
B. 
Should the structure be equipped with an automatic sprinkler system and/or fire alarm system, both systems shall continue to be maintained and monitored.
C. 
The Stoughton Fire Department must be informed of any chemicals, solvents or other dangerous substances as well as the location of said substances in the building or on the property. Interior walls and/or partitions constructed of, or partially containing, any hazardous or combustible material shall be identified on the floor plans.
D. 
Removal and disposal of all hazardous or combustible materials shall be performed in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
E. 
This chapter shall incorporate applicable portions of 780 CMR 121.7, "Standards for making buildings safe or secure" (Massachusetts State Building Code) and 527 CMR 10.13(7), "Marking or identifying certain buildings that are especially unsafe in the case of fire."
