Borough of Runnemede owned or leased vehicles
shall be used on official Borough business only and all drivers and
passengers must be on official Borough business when used. An employee
who is also an employee by another government entity may use a Borough
of Runnemede vehicle for that employment only if the employment is
pursuant to an interlocal service agreement between the Borough of
Runnemede and the other jurisdiction.
A.
Borough
vehicles may not be taken home by any Borough employee or official
except for the Police Chief, Fire Chief, Fire Marshal and Construction
Code Official, provided that each official resides within the territorial
limits of the Borough of Runnemede.
B.
A Borough
vehicle may be taken home by an employee or official only with the
advanced written approval of the director of such department and only
on a temporary basis, to facilitate Borough use for after hour business.
When an employee or official takes home a Borough vehicle it shall
be used for official Borough of Runnemede business only. Any other
use, including but not limited to personal use, is prohibited. No
other person is permitted to occupy or operate such vehicle while
in the employee or official possession. Any violation of this policy
constitutes cause for disciplinary action.
