[1983 Code § 19-1]
For the services set forth below, the Municipal Clerk shall receive the following fees on behalf of the Borough.
A. 
For furnishing any copy of any public record, a copying charge as set forth in this chapter.
B. 
For furnishing any printed ordinance other than the Building Code, Zoning Ordinance or other codes of the Borough for which a separate fee is established, a fee as set forth in this chapter.
C. 
For handling any returned check payable to any department of the Borough or its agencies: $20.

For the services set forth below, the Chief of Police shall receive the following fees on behalf of the Borough.
A. 
For reports or records obtained in person during regular business hours of the Borough of Pompton Lakes, a copying charge as set forth in this chapter.
B. 
For reports or records requested by any other means than personal appearance, the fee set forth in Subsection A above and an additional fee of $5.

For the services set forth below, the Tax Collector or Assessor, as appropriate, shall receive the following fees on behalf of the Borough.
A. 
Duplicate tax certificate: $100.

Replacement tax sale certificate of redemption: $25.
B. 
Duplicate tax bill: $5 for the first duplicate and $25 for each subsequent duplicate requested for the same tax year.
C. 
Tax search: $10.
D. 
Search for miscellaneous tax information: $5.
E. 
List of property owners, 200 feet: $10 or $0.25 per name, whichever is greater.
F. 
Mailing notice of tax sale: $25 per mailing.
G. 
Municipal lien search: $10 per property.
H. 
For furnishing any copy of any other public record, a copying charge as set forth in this chapter.

For the services set forth below, the Municipal Court Clerk shall receive the following fees on behalf of the Borough or as directed by the Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey.
A. 
For furnishing any copy of any public record except as herein set forth, a copying charge as set forth in this chapter.
B. 
For certifying any public document, $2 for each certification.
C. 
For discovery in Municipal Court matters, such fees and costs as may, from time to time, be established in the Municipal Court Discovery Fee Schedule imposed by the Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey.

The Registrar of Vital Statistics or the Secretary of the Board of Health shall receive the fees as stated in Board of Health Code Chapter BH7, Fees.[1]

For the services set forth below, the Secretary of the Planning Board shall receive the following fees on behalf of the Borough.
A.

For the services set forth below, the Secretary of the Zoning Board of Adjustment shall receive the following fees on behalf of the Borough.
A. 
For furnishing any copy of any public record, a copying charge as set forth in this chapter.

For the services set forth below, the secretary of the appropriate board shall receive the following fees on behalf of the Borough.
A. 
For furnishing any copy of any public record, a copying charge as set forth in this chapter.
B. 
For certifying any public document, $2 for each certification.

Zoning permit applications.

New construction and additions for commercial structures (One- and two-family dwellings exempt): $100.
2. 
Residential structures (Including one-and two-family dwellings): $75.
3. 
Signs: $75.

Accessory structures (Including fences, sheds, decks, detached garages and pools): $50.

Nothing herein shall be construed as requiring the above-named Borough officials to certify or issue any copy of any record unless the record is a public record as defined by New Jersey law.

All funds collected under the provisions of this chapter shall be considered funds of the Borough of Pompton Lakes and shall be paid upon collection to the Treasurer of the Borough except in such cases where the disposition of funds is governed by state statute or the directives of the Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey.

A. 
Unless set forth otherwise herein, the cost for providing copies of public records and documents shall be $0.05 per page. No charge shall be made for copies under 20 in total. Notwithstanding, in such cases where the total number of copies is 20 or greater, a charge shall be levied for all copies including the first 20 copies.
B. 
Whenever the nature, format, manner of collation or volume of records requested in the form of printed matter to be inspected, examined or copied is such that the record cannot be produced by ordinary copying equipment in ordinary business size or involves an extraordinary expenditure of time and effort to accommodate the request, a special service charge, in addition to the cost of duplication in Subsection A above, shall be assessed which shall be reasonable and based upon the actual direct cost of providing the requested copies. Rates for certain records which exceed Subsection A copying charges are set forth in this chapter. The requestor may review and object to any additional charge which shall then be reviewed by the Administrator for determination.
C. 
Standard quality compact discs or DVDs, if available, shall be subject to a charge equal to the actual cost of the disc to the Borough unless the disc is provided in its original package, in which case there shall be no charge.
D. 
Audiocassettes, if available, shall be subject to a charge equal to the actual cost of the cassette to the Borough unless the cassette is provided in its original package, in which case there shall be no charge.
E. 
Videotapes, if available, shall be subject to a charge equal to the actual cost of the tape to the Borough unless the tape is provided in its original package, in which case there shall be no charge.
F. 
Information by way of electronic transmission shall be free of charge.

A. 
Fees. A person who is married or joined in a civil union by an authorized official of the Borough, as established by N.J.S.A. 37:1-13 et seq., shall pay a fee according to the following schedule. An administrative fee, as stated in Board of Health Code Chapter BH7 Fees, shall be paid in addition to the fee. All fees shall be paid to the Borough of Pompton Lakes prior to the ceremony and shall be deposited in the current fund of the Borough.
1. 
Ceremonies performed in Pompton Lakes: $75.
2. 
Ceremonies performed outside of Pompton Lakes: $100.
B. 
Reimbursements and procedures.
1. 
Fees for service may be reimbursed to the authorized official through the appropriate budget line item and with authorization as established herein and according to law. Alternatively, at the election of the Borough, fees for service may be disbursed to the authorized official as additional salary and as referenced in the salary ordinance authorizing the payment of salary to the authorized official.
2. 
The authorized official shall not be reimbursed for any fees, expenses or expenditures in connection with the performance of a wedding or civil union ceremony unless such expenditures are approved in accordance with the provisions of this subsection.
3. 
The Borough shall reimburse only those expenses which are determined by the Borough to be reasonable and related to the officiating of the wedding or civil union ceremony. Such expenses shall include auto expenses, limited to the mileage to and from the ceremony and to be reimbursed at the rate then currently established by the Internal Revenue Service regulations or Borough policy, at the election of the Borough, if the authorized official uses a personal vehicle to attend the ceremony. The Borough shall not reimburse expenses or expenditures on behalf of or as a result of any spouse, child, guest or other person attending with the authorized official.
4. 
The authorized official shall submit and have approved a requisition form or voucher, with supporting receipts, to be provided by the Borough and as required by the Borough Administrator or Chief Financial Officer, setting forth the fees (if not paid pursuant to the salary alternative), expenses and expenditures to be reimbursed by the Borough associated with the performance of a wedding or civil union ceremony.

A. 
Findings. Various departments of the Borough of Pompton Lakes involved in the collection of moneys due the Borough for taxes, assessments, fees, fines, penalties, reimbursements and other various and sundry items have experienced substantial expenditure of time and effort to recover payments by bad checks. It is the intent and purpose of this subsection to provide for reasonable reimbursement to the Borough for the additional administrative expense incurred by the Borough in collecting funds due on bad checks.
B. 
Payment procedures. All moneys paid to the Borough of Pompton Lakes by any person, partnership, corporation or other entity shall be in money of the United States, by cash or check or similar sight order for the payment of money, unless payment in cash or certified check is otherwise required by law.
C. 
Bad checks. Any person who issues or passes a check or similar sight order for the payment of money to the Borough of Pompton Lakes, which check or similar sight order is not honored, shall pay to the Borough of Pompton Lakes promptly upon demand the amount of said check or similar sight order, in cash or certified check, together with the additional sum of $20 in cash or certified check.
D. 
Acceptance of lesser amounts. In the event that any person, on behalf of the Borough of Pompton Lakes, shall accept any payment for sums due the Borough of Pompton Lakes as a result of a dishonored check or similar sight order for the payment of money in less than the amount due, including the administrative charge set forth in Subsection C above, either through inadvertence, agreement or requirement of law, a provision of this Code or other lawful regulation or order, the sums received shall first be applied to the administrative expense set forth in Subsection C above, and the balance applied to any other sums due from the person making payment to the Borough of Pompton Lakes.
