A.
The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Runnemede,
County of Camden, State of New Jersey feel there is a need to establish
the position of Borough Purchasing Agent.
B.
N.J.S.A. 40A:11-9 requires a municipality to establish
such position by ordinance.
C.
The Purchasing Agent shall have the authority, responsibility
and accountability as the contracting agent, for the purchasing activity
of the municipality, to prepare public advertising for bids and to
receive bids for the provision or performance of goods or services
on behalf of the municipality and to award contracts permitted pursuant
to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-3 in the name of the municipality and conduct any
activities that may be necessary or appropriate to the purchasing
function of the municipality.
D.
Said Purchasing Agent shall comply with all requirements
and criteria as set forth by the Director of the Division of Local
Government Services.
The position of Purchasing Agent be and hereby
is established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-9, with all the duties,
requirements and functions as outlined therein.
