[Amended 5-5-1997]
All general laws applicable to the Town and all ordinances of
the Town shall continue in full force except as they are inconsistent
with the provisions of this Charter. All special acts or parts of
special acts relating to the Town are repealed, with the exception
of validating acts and acts abating taxes and of the following which
shall continue in full force and effect, except as they are inconsistent
with the provisions of this Charter:
A. An Act Merging the Town Plan Commission and the Zoning Commission
of the Town of Farmington, approved March 7, 1945.
B. An Act Designating the Farmington Town Council as the Flood and Erosion
Control Board, Special Acts of Connecticut, November 1955 Session,
p. 752.
C. An Act Concerning Conveyance of Land to the Town of Farmington, Special
Acts of Connecticut, January Session of 1957, p. 307,
D. Any other special acts affecting the Town of Farmington passed after
1957 by the General Assembly.
This Charter may be amended in accordance with the provisions
of the General Statutes.
Should any provision of this Charter be declared unconstitutional,
such action shall not affect the validity of any provision thereof.
