Upon receipt by the Sewer Department of notification from the Borough that any sewer is available to serve buildings on any properties in the Borough, the Sewer Department shall order each owner of property along the line of said sewer to connect each building on such property with said sewer in accordance with the terms of this chapter.
The Sewer Department shall designate one of its proper officers to give notice to the owner of property with respect to which an order is issued pursuant to this chapter. Such notice shall be addressed to the owner of said property as the name of said owner appears in the last tax duplicate of the Borough of Chesilhurst, shall describe the property by lot and block designation as the same appears on the Tax Map of the Borough of Chesilhurst and by the street address if a street address exists, and shall state that by order of the Sewer Department the owner is required to connect each building on said property with a sewer in accordance with the terms of this chapter on or before the connection date with respect to such building or, if such connection date shall have passed, within 30 days after service of such notice as hereinafter provided, and said notice shall also describe the penalty which may be imposed hereunder for failure to comply with said notice and order in accordance with the terms of this chapter. Said notice may be served on the owner personally or by leaving it at his usual place of abode with a member of his family above the age of 18 years. Said notice may also be served within or without the limits of the Borough of Chesilhurst by mailing the same by registered mail to the last known post office address of said owner as the same appears on the last tax duplicate of the Borough of Chesilhurst.

A. 
Any person or corporation who shall violate any of the regulatory provisions of this chapter, or who shall refuse to correct a violation after having received a notice thereof from the Borough, shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $2,000, imprisonment for a period not exceeding 90 days and/or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days for each violation. Each and every day that a violation exists after expiration of the time limit under a notice from the Borough to correct the same shall be deemed a separate offense and punishable as such.
B. 
The Borough shall further seek reimbursement of any and all costs and expenses related to reward monies paid pursuant to a violation of the provisions of this chapter, including, but not limited to, any and all reward monies paid in accordance with Resolution No. 2013-156.[1]

Editor's Note: A "Whereas" clause to this ordinance stated that Res. No. 2013-156 authorized a reward of $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) responsible for illegal dumping of grease in the Borough's sanitary sewer system and/or municipal separate stormwater system. Said resolution is on file in the Borough offices.
C. 
Any and all costs and expenses that are ordered for reimbursement to the Borough shall be in addition to, not in lieu of, all other penalties set forth within this section.
