(a) No person shall operate a motor vehicle, trailer or
semitrailer with a gross weight in excess of three tons on Houston
Road between Pen-Ambler Road and Dager Road, except as hereinafter
provided.
(b) The proper officers of the Township are hereby authorized
and directed to erect and maintain the appropriate official signs
designating the limitation provided in this section.
(c) The limitation provided in this section shall not
be applied to motor vehicles, trailers or semitrailers, in excess
of the gross weight of three tons, which are engaged in making deliveries
to premises situated on Houston Road.
(d) No person shall refuse to unload excess weight from
a motor vehicle, trailer or semitrailer when so ordered by a police
officer in uniform.

(a) No person shall operate a motor vehicle, trailer or
semitrailer with a gross weight in excess of fifteen tons on Mt. Pleasant
Avenue between Bethlehem Pike and North Spring Garden Street, except
as hereinafter provided.
(b) The proper officers of the Township are hereby authorized
and directed to erect and maintain the appropriate official signs
designating the limitation provided in this section.
(c) The limitation provided in this section shall not
be applied to motor vehicles, trailers or semitrailers, in excess
of the gross weight of fifteen tons, which are engaged in making deliveries
to premises situated on Mt. Pleasant Avenue.
(d) No person shall refuse to unload excess weight from
a motor vehicle, trailer or semitrailer when so ordered by a police
officer in uniform.

(a) No
person shall use or operate a brake retarder on any vehicle travelling
on the below listed sections of road. This restriction shall become
effective immediately upon the posting of signage in accordance with
PennDOT regulations.
(1) DeKalb Pike (SR 202), between Hancock Road and School House Lane.
(2) Sumneytown Pike (County), between Swedesford Road and DeKalb Pike
SR 202).
(b) Official
signs giving notice of the prohibition shall be erected and maintained
by the Township.
(c) Emergency
vehicles authorized or required to have brake retarders are exempt
from these regulations.
(d) Each
violation of this section shall constitute a separate offense.
(e) The
Lower Gwynedd Township Police Department shall enforce this section.
(f) Any
person or entity who or which violate any of the provisions of this
section, upon a summary conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine
of not less than $100 and not more than $300, as well as costs of
prosecution. To the extent permitted by state law, such fine shall
be paid to the Lower Gwynedd Township Treasurer.
(g) In
accordance with the requirements of 67 Pa. Code § 179. 10, prohibition
of brake retarders shall not be effective without the prior written
approval of PennDOT.
Whoever violates any of the provisions of this
chapter shall be fined $75 plus $75 for each 500 pounds, or part thereof,
in excess of the maximum gross weight permitted.
