A Municipal Court for the Borough of Chesilhurst
is established, as of January 1, 1949, pursuant to the provisions
of Chapter 293 of the Laws of 1993 (N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq.), as
amended and supplemented.
The name of the Municipal Court shall be the
"Municipal Court of Chesilhurst."
The Municipal Court shall have a seal which
shall bear the impress of the name of the court.
There shall be a Judge of the said Municipal
Court who shall be appointed by the Mayor and who shall serve for
a term of three years from the date of his appointment and until his
successor is appointed and qualified.
In lieu of any other fees, the Judge of the
Municipal Court shall be paid an annual salary set by ordinance of
the Borough Council.
The said Municipal Court and the Municipal Court
Judge thereof shall have, possess and exercise all the functions,
powers, duties and jurisdiction conferred by the provisions of Chapter
293 of the Laws of 1993 (N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq.), as amended and
supplemented, or by any other law.
The Municipal Court shall be held in the Borough
Hall. The Municipal Court Judge shall sit from 9:30 a.m. until 4:00
p.m., or until the calendar is completed, and at such other times
as the business of the court may require, subject to the rules applicable
to municipal courts.
