There is hereby created in the borough the position
of Municipal Court Prosecutor.

The Municipal Court Prosecutor shall be a duly
licensed attorney-at-law of the state.
The Municipal Court Prosecutor shall be appointed
by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council for the term of one year,
effective January 1 of each year and until December 31 of the same
year, and until the appointment and qualification of his or her successor.
The Municipal Court Prosecutor shall be paid
such annual salary as provided for in the current Salary Ordinance
of the borough and such other reasonable compensation for additional
services performed only upon authorization of the Council first secured.
The Municipal Court Prosecutor shall appear
in the Municipal Court of the borough on behalf of the state or the
borough in any case therein pending upon the request of the Judge
of the Municipal Court, the Councilperson in charge of the Police
Department or upon directive of the Mayor and Council. He or she shall
exercise such powers and duties as are assigned to such office by
the statutes of the state, the rules governing the courts of the state
and such other authority as may be assigned by the Mayor and Council.
