No person shall ride, and no person shall allow his or her minor
child to ride, a bicycle or skateboard or rollerblades on any portion
of any sidewalk in the Town of New Miford, except that:
(1) This prohibition shall not apply to a police officer during his performance
of his or her official duties; and
(2) This prohibition shall not apply to the riding of bicycles on the
sidewalk located on the south side of Bridge Street between the west
end of the Housatonic Bridge and the intersection of Bridge and East
Streets.

Any person violating the provisions of §
4A-1 of this chapter shall be fined $50.

Whenever any police officer determines that a person has violated
this chapter, the officer may serve a notice of such violation upon
such person. Within 10 days of the issuance of such notice of violation,
such person may pay to the clerk of the Police Department a violation
fee of $10. Upon the payment of such violation fee, a prosecution
under this chapter shall be barred. Should such person elect not to
pay the violation fee within such ten-day period, the Police Department
may seek an arrest warrant or other process to prosecute such person
for the violation of this chapter.
