[Adopted 5-13-2004 by Ord. No. 374]
A.
For purposes of computing and using vacation days, personal days and sick days with pay, each full-time employee's year will be measured based upon the calendar year in which full-time employment began with the Township. If full-time employment begins after October 1 of any particular calendar year, that individual's employment will be considered to have begun in the next calendar year. If full-time employment with the Township begins prior to October 1 of any particular calendar year, then the individual's employment will be considered to have begun in the calendar year in which he was hired.
B.
An employee is not entitled to the benefit of a new calendar year for purposes of calculating years of service under this section until that calendar year has elapsed. For example, an employee who is hired full-time on:
(1)
May 1, 2000, and has worked full-time with the Township until June 1, 2003, is entitled to three years of service.
(2)
October 1, 2000, and has worked full-time with the Township until June 1, 2003, is entitled to two years of service.
(3)
May 1, 2000, and has worked full-time with the Township until January 1, 2004, is entitled to four years of service.
C.
Any employee employed by the Township full-time for greater than one year at the time this section is enacted shall have the years of service commence using the calendar year in which that individual began employment, notwithstanding the actual date in which he was employed.
