A. 
The following permanent boards and commissions are hereby established or continued:
(1) 
The Planning Commission;
(2) 
The Zoning Hearing Board;
(3) 
The Civil Service Commission;
(4) 
The Recreation and Community Activities Board;
(5) 
The Police Pension Board;
(6) 
The Board of Appeals (Uniform Construction Code); and[1]

(7) 
The Local Tax Appeals Board.
B. 
Council may choose to establish by resolution additional boards, commissions or committees that are temporary in nature.
C. 
Except where otherwise provided by law, the Borough Charter or ordinance, all boards and commissions shall be advisory in nature and shall perform only those administrative functions that are specifically provided by law, the Borough Charter or ordinance.

The appointment, removal and filling of vacancies of members of all boards and commissions shall be as provided by law, the Borough Charter and ordinance or, in the case of temporary boards, commissions and committees, by resolution.

The number and terms of members of all boards and commissions shall be as provided by law, the Borough Charter and ordinance or, in the case of temporary boards, commissions and committees, by resolution.
A. 
Each board or commission shall follow the rules and regulations provided therefor by law, the Borough Charter or ordinance or, in the case of temporary boards, commissions and committees, by resolution.
B. 
Each board or commission or temporary board, commission or committee may provide for additional rules and regulations governing its operation as needed. Such rules and regulations shall be subject to approval by Council.
The functions and duties of each board and commission shall be as provided by law, the Borough Charter or ordinance or, in the case of temporary boards, commissions and committees, by resolution.
