Pursuant to the Borough Code, which derived from the act of
1927, May 4, P. L. 519, as amended, there is hereby established a
Recreation and Community Activities Board consisting of nine members
to be appointed by Council. Except for original appointments, which
shall be staggered, members shall be appointed annually for terms
of three years each. An appointment to fill a vacancy shall be only
for the unexpired portion of the term. All members shall reside in
the Borough. The members shall be removable for cause, by Council,
upon written charges and after public hearing.
The Recreation and Community Activities Board is hereby authorized
to make and alter rules and regulations for its own organization and
procedures consistent with this Code and the laws of the commonwealth.
The members of the Recreation and Community Activities Board
shall serve without compensation and shall make an annual report to
Council of their actions.
For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this article,
the Recreation and Community Activities Board may recommend to Council
the employment of play leaders, recreation directors, supervisors,
superintendents or any other officer or employee as it deems proper.
