A. 
Except as set forth in Subsection B hereof, no individual employed by the Borough may possess on his or her person or in any vehicle in which he or she is located any firearm or offensive weapon while acting in the course of his or her employment with the Borough.
B. 
This section shall not in any way restrict, prohibit or limit any police officer, fireman or emergency medical personnel from possessing any firearm that the individual is licensed to carry or permitted to carry as part of the official equipment issued by said individual's employing department.
C. 
The prohibition set forth in Subsection A hereof shall not preclude an individual employed by the Borough from having in his or her possession or in his or her vehicle any firearm for which said person holds a valid license under the Uniform Firearms Act:
(1) 
While said individual is traveling to or from his or her place of employment, provided that such firearm is not at any time brought into any building or onto any land owned by or leased to the Borough; or
(2) 
During any period of time when such individual is not acting in the course of his or her employment with the Borough.
D. 
The terms "firearm" and "offensive weapon" shall have such meanings as set forth in 18 Pa.C.S.A. § 908 et seq.
