The separate offices of Secretary and Treasurer heretofore existing
in the Town of Bloomsburg are hereby abolished and in their stead,
the Office of Secretary/Treasurer of the Town of Bloomsburg is hereby
created.

The Secretary/Treasurer shall perform, in and for the Town of
Bloomsburg, all of the duties and functions of Secretary and of Treasurer.

The Secretary/Treasurer shall be appointed for an indefinite
term by a majority vote of all members of the Council of the Town
of Bloomsburg. The Secretary/Treasurer shall serve at the pleasure
of said Council and he or she may be removed at any time by a majority
vote of all members of said Council.

The Secretary/Treasurer shall be chosen solely on the basis
of his or her abilities relative to the performance of the duties
and functions required of such office, with special reference to his
or her actual experience in or knowledge of accepted practices with
respect to the duties of the Office of Secretary/Treasurer.

Before entering upon his or her duties, the Secretary/Treasurer
shall give a bond to the Town of Bloomsburg with a bonding company
as surety, to be approved by the Council, conditioned on the faithful
performance of his or her duties. The premium shall be paid by the
Town.

The salary of the Secretary/Treasurer shall be fixed, from time
to time, by resolution of the Town Council.
