The provisions of this chapter imposing time limit on parking
shall not relieve any person of the duty to observe other more restrictive
provisions prohibiting or limiting the stopping, standing or parking
of vehicles as set forth in N.J.S.A 39:4-138, any other New Jersey
statute or as hereinafter provided.

A. Purpose. The purpose of this section is to authorize the Ocean Township
Police Department to provide for temporary no-parking areas, streets
or sections on streets during times of public events, sporting events,
public celebrations, and other large public gatherings so as to avoid
the hazards or conditions which interfere with the free flow of traffic
or endangerment of pedestrians.
B. The Township of Ocean Police Department shall have the authority
to declare that due to a large public gathering, celebration, sporting
event or other activity or event attended by a large number of persons,
to declare that no parking shall be permitted on certain streets or
sections of streets where necessary in order to avoid the hazards
or conditions which may interfere with the free flow of traffic and
or endangerment of pedestrians. The Chief of Police, officer in charge,
or in his or her absence, the ranking police officer is authorized
to declare such a condition and direct a posting of "emergency and/or
temporary no parking signs" where needed. Notification of that emergency
or temporary no-parking signs are being or will be posted, shall be
given to the operator or owner of any vehicle which has been parked
prior to the posting of the signs.
C. Any unoccupied vehicle parked or standing in violation of this section
shall be deemed a nuisance and menace to the safe and proper regulation
of traffic and any police officer may provide for the removal of such
vehicle. The owner shall pay the reasonable cost of removal and storage
which may result from such removal before regaining possession of
the vehicle.
D. The effectiveness of this section is contingent upon signs be erected
designating the area in question as "emergency no parking" and/or
"temporary no parking" areas as required by law.
E. Any person violating the provision of this section shall, in addition
to paying the cost of removal and storage of said vehicle, be fined
a minimum of $50 and a maximum of $100.
No person shall park a vehicle for longer than two hours at any time on any day, except Sundays and public holidays upon any of the streets or parts of streets or areas described in §
385-16.

A. There is established in the Township restricted parking spaces to
be utilized exclusively by handicapped persons, pursuant to the provisions
of N.J.S.A. 39:4-197.5.
B. The locations designated in §
385-16 are restricted parking spaces for use by persons who have been issued special vehicle identification cards by the New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-205, on which motor vehicles a certificate is displayed, and for which special vehicle identification cards have been issued, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-206.
C. Penalties. Pursuant to P.L. 2003, c.161, approved by the Legislature
on August 22, 2003, any person parking a motor vehicle in a restricted
parking space without a special vehicle identification card, shall
be liable to a fine of $250 for the first offense and for each subsequent
offense, a fine of at least $250 and up to 90 days community service
on such terms and in such form as the court shall deem appropriate,
or any combination thereof.

A. No person shall park a motor vehicle on the southerly side of Lighthouse
Drive between its intersection with Pirate Drive and its terminus
with Barnegat Bay.
B. Sewer infrastructure facilities.

(1) No person shall park or permit the parking of a motor vehicle they
may own or lease on the following Township-owned properties:
(2) Penalty. Any person violating or failing to comply with the provisions
of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a
fine of not less than $100 nor more than $250, as determined in the
discretion of the Municipal Court Judge.
C. No person or entity who owns or has possession of any motor vehicle, boat, truck, trailer or portable storage facility shall place or park, or permit the placement or parking of, any such items, which that person or entity owns or controls, on any property located with the Township of Ocean which was purchased with Open Space funding, Ocean County Natural Lands Trust funds or State Green Acre funds, unless duly designated parking facilities have been established by the Township of Ocean and approved by the entity which provided funding for such land purchase and preservation. The penalty provisions of Subsection
B(2) shall apply to any such violations of this provision.

A. Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation is covering the public
roads, streets and/or highways located within the Township, the parking
of any motor vehicle on or upon any portion of a public road, street
or highway is strictly prohibited.
B. The prohibition upon the parking of a motor vehicle on any public
road, street or highway located within the Township shall remain in
effect after the snow has ceased and until the streets, road and/or
highways located within the Township have been plowed sufficiently
and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal
flow of traffic.
C. As used in this section, the term "snow" means any precipitation
depositing any accumulation on the streets, roads or highways located
with the Township, including but no limited to, snow, sleet, hail
or ice or freezing rain.
D. Warning signs stating the parking prohibited status of the roads
during snowfall shall be erected and maintained in accordance with
N.J.S.A. 39:4-198 at the following locations:

E. In situations when a motor vehicle is unable to proceed and must
be parked on any street, road or highway in the Township, the operator
of such vehicle must notify the Police Department of the Township
as to the disabled vehicle left parked on the road, street or highway.
F. Any unoccupied motor vehicle parked or standing in or upon the Township
shall be deemed an violation of this section, shall be deemed a nuisance
and a menace to the safe and proper regulation or traffic, and any
police officer will provide for the removal of such vehicle. The owner
of the vehicle shall be responsible for all expenses associated with
the towing and storage.
G. Whoever shall park their vehicle in violation with this section shall
be subject to a fine of $100.
