As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
SNOW
Any precipitation depositing any accumulation on the streets,
including snow, sleet, hail, ice and freezing rain.
SNOW REMOVAL CONDITION
A state of street conditions that are hazardous and dangerous
to vehicular and pedestrian traffic, or so declared by the Mayor or
such person designated by the Mayor.
VEHICLE
Any self-propelled motorized vehicle licensed to travel upon
the streets, roads and highways of the Borough of Walnutport.

A snow-removal condition is hereby declared to exist in the
Borough of Walnutport whenever snow falls during any period of 24
hours or less to an accumulated depth of eight inches or more, or
at any other such time when, in the opinion of the Mayor, or such
person designated by the Mayor, the street conditions are hazardous
and dangerous to vehicular and pedestrian traffic because of snow
accumulation. The Mayor or such person designated by the Mayor, shall
have authority to declare a snow-removal condition, notice of which
shall immediately be issued to local radio and news services. In either
instance, a snow-removal condition is presumed to continue for a period
of 24 hours following the accumulation of snow, or until such period
of time as designated by the Mayor. For the purpose of enforcing this
article, the following streets are hereby named and designated as
snow emergency routes and shall be considered as such whenever the
Mayor, or a person designated by the Mayor shall declare that a snow-removal
condition exists, according to this article.

During such time as a snow-removal condition is in effect, it
shall be a violation of this article for any person, firm, organization
or entity to park, abandon or leave unattended any vehicle on the
various streets, roads and highways and their adjacent rights-of-way
within the boundaries of the Borough of Walnutport.

During such time a snow-removal condition, as described elsewhere
in this article, exists, it shall be illegal for any person, firm,
organization or entity to deposit snow into any street of this Borough,
whether by the use of a snow blower, or by shoveling, or in any other
manner, so as to constitute a safety hazard or to require the duplication
of efforts of the Borough employees to clear the streets or alleys
of the Borough of snow. It shall be unlawful for any citizen to plow
and/or remove snow from the cartway of any Borough roads and/or streets
whether by use of a plow, snow blower, or by shoveling or in any other
manner.

During such time as a snow-removal condition is in effect, any
person who shall park a vehicle anywhere upon or along any of the
streets of the Borough of Walnutport or shall plow a Borough cartway
or blow or throw snow onto a Borough Street and roads and their adjacent
right-of-way shall be guilty of a violation of this article, and upon
conviction thereof, such person shall pay a fine which shall not exceed
$300, together with costs of prosecution.
