A. 
Accurate and complete time and attendance records for each employee shall be maintained by each department of the Township and reported to the Township Clerk.
B. 
The person in charge of the unit, office or activity shall certify as to the accuracy of the time report or record.
All Township employees shall be at their assigned posts or points of duty at the regular starting time for each working day unless on vacation, absent or on leave of absence.
Any lateness of a Township employee and the reason for the same shall be noted on the time report. Recurring or chronic tardiness shall be referred to the Council by the Township Clerk for appropriate action and may be the basis for disciplinary action against the offending employee.
It is the responsibility of each Township employee to notify his or her superior or the Township Clerk or, in the case of the Township Clerk, the Deputy Township Clerk without delay if he or she will be absent or delayed in reaching his or her assigned post.
Unless a department of the Township or certain positions within a department are regularly assigned a greater or lesser number of hours per week, the normal hours of work for full-time Township employees are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Each full-time employee shall be entitled to take a lunch break of one hour, which must be coordinated so as to provide coverage for office services.
A. 
The Council shall, at its annual reorganizational meeting, establish any or all of the following dates as holidays for the Township, with Township offices closed and normal operations suspended:
(1) 
January 1.
(2) 
Martin Luther King's birthday.
(3) 
Presidents' Day.
(4) 
Good Friday.
(5) 
Memorial Day.
(6) 
Independence Day.
(7) 
Labor Day.
(8) 
Columbus Day.
(9) 
General Election Day.
(10) 
Veterans Day.
(11) 
Thanksgiving Day.
(12) 
The Friday following Thanksgiving Day.
(13) 
December 25.
(14) 
One additional holiday.
B. 
Personal leave day.
(1) 
Each full-time employee of the Township of Allamuchy shall be entitled to six personal leave days during each calendar year, said day to be taken in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. In addition, the Mayor and Council may, by resolution, authorize additional personal leave days in any calendar year should circumstances warrant the granting of such additional days for full-time employees of the Township of Allamuchy. For the purpose of this Subsection B, "personal leave day" shall be defined as time off from the employee's regular duties necessitated by a valid personal reason which requires the employee to conduct personal business during a regular working hour not otherwise available outside of vacation or sick leave.
(2) 
In order for an employee to exercise the privilege of taking a personal leave day, the employee shall, at the earliest possible convenience, notify the employee's supervisor or the Mayor of the employee's desire to take said personal leave day, and said supervisor shall grant the employee's request unless, in the supervisor's judgment, the granting of a personal leave day to an employee will result in the creation of an emergency situation due to a shortage of personnel.
