The Township shall provide trash collection service for single-
or two-family dwelling properties having independent outside access,
provided that the trash is placed for collection on the curbline of
a public street. "Public street," as used herein, shall mean a street
dedicated to and accepted by the state, the county or the Township
as and for a public highway and open to the public for such use.
Garbage and refuse will be collected from the various portions
of the Township in accordance with a schedule which the Board of Commissioners
shall approve. Collection shall commence at 7:00 a.m., except from
the first Monday in June through the Friday before Labor Day, when
collections shall commence at 6:30 a.m. Rubbish containers must be
placed at curbside before the scheduled time but no more than 12 hours
prior thereto. Refuse containers must be removed from curbside not
more than 12 hours after collection. Failure to comply shall constitute
a public nuisance, as provided for in another section of this Code.
Containers must be placed at the curbline of the property.
Appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, clothes dryers, window air conditioners, hot water heaters and other major home appliances; bulky items such as furniture, bed springs or mattresses; other noncombustible items such as metal items; computer components, including CPUs, keyboards, monitors and printers; televisions, stereos, radios, video equipment, including VCRs and DVD players; and any other electronic equipment shall not be placed for collection with other "acceptable municipal waste," as defined in §
279-6 hereof, but shall be collected by the Township by the obtaining of a permit from the Department of Code Enforcement of the Township and the payment of a fee in accordance with the schedule adopted by the Board of Commissioners and set forth in Chapter
140, Fees, Rates and Permits, of the Township Code.
