A Shade Tree Commission in and for the City of Yonkers is hereby
established.
The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council,
shall appoint such Commission, which shall consist of 15 members,
to serve without compensation at the pleasure of the Mayor. The Mayor
shall designate a Chairman of such Commission. The Commissioner of
Public Works shall be ex officio a member of such Commission.

It shall be the function and duty of the Shade Tree Commission
to give advice and make recommendations to the Commissioner of Public
Works with respect to the placement, maintenance and removal of shade
trees on the public streets, highways, parks and public places within
the City of Yonkers. It shall further be the function and duty of
the Shade Tree Commission to recommend to the Commissioner of Public
Works approval or disapproval of any application for a permit to plant,
set out or remove a tree or trees in or upon any public street, highway
or public place within the City of Yonkers which is referred to it
by the Commissioner of Public Works.
