The County of Suffolk hereby establishes a formal policy whereby one volunteer from each of the 18 legislative districts shall be selected each year by the County Legislator representing his or her legislative district as an individual to be publicly recognized during Volunteer Recognition Week for his or her voluntary contribution of time, energy and/or expertise to the community (the second week of April of each year).
This public recognition shall include the annual presentation of a formal legislative pronouncement of recognition of such contribution at the regularly scheduled legislative meeting held in April of each and every year hereafter.
