[Amended 8-19-2008]
All officers, employees and agents of the County
who are required to give bond shall give bond with corporate surety,
and the County shall pay the premium therefor, except as to the Treasurer,
who may give bond as provided in § 15.2-1529, Code of Virginia.
The County Administrator shall give bond in the amount of $2,000.

In recognition of the hard work and dedication of County employees,
and due to the lack of salary increases over the past three years,
a one-time bonus will be paid during October of 2011 to all eligible
County employees based on the following criteria:
A. Active employment. Employees must be actively employed as of October
1, 2011.
B. Amount of bonus for full-time employees. The bonus shall be paid
as follows:
(1) Service of three years or more: 3.00% of annual salary, plus $100.
(2) Service of two to three years: 2.00% of annual salary, plus $100.
(3) Service of one to two years: 1.00% of annual salary, plus $100.
(4) Service of six months to one year: 0.50% of annual salary, plus $100.
C. Amount of bonus for part-time employees. The bonus shall be paid
as follows:
(1) Service of three years or more: 3.00% of FY 2010-2011 earnings, plus
$100.
(2) Service of two to three years: 2.00% of FY 2010-2011 earnings, plus
$100.
(3) Service of one to two years: 1.00% of FY 2010-2011 earnings, plus
$100.
(4) Service of six months to one year: 0.50% of FY 2010-2011 earnings,
plus $100.
D. Constitutional officers and members of boards and commissions are
not eligible for payment of the bonus.
E. This one-time bonus shall be for FY 2011-2012 only.

In recognition of the hard work and dedication of County employees,
and due to the lack of salary increases over the past 3 1/2 years,
a one-time bonus will be paid during October of 2012 to all eligible
County employees based on the following criteria:
A. Active employment. Employees must be actively employed as of October
1, 2012.
B. Employment date. Employees must have been employed by October 1,
2011.
C. Amount of bonus for full-time employees: $1,000 for each full-time
employee.
D. Amount of bonus for part-time employees: $500 for each part-time
employee who has worked 500 hours or more for the period of October
1, 2011, through September 30, 2012.
E. Constitutional officers and members of boards and commissions are
not eligible for payment of the bonus.
F. This one-time bonus shall be for FY 2012-2013 only.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting potential economic
impacts and concern with revenue projections for FY 2020-2021, Warren
County elected to delay previously scheduled salary increases to employees.
In recognition of the services rendered by Warren County employees
during these economic and environmentally challenging times, a one-time
payment will be paid in December of 2020 to all eligible non-hazardous-duty
County employees based on the following criteria:
A. Acknowledgement
pay authorized to all eligible non-hazardous-duty Warren County employees
from the nondepartmental account (91000-8003) as follows:
(1) Non-hazardous-duty
employees only. Employees must be employed in a nonhazardous position.
Hazardous-duty positions are those defined as Warren County Sheriff's
Office (WCSO) or Warren County Fire and Rescue (WCFR) employees performing
hazardous duties and in a Virginia Retirement System (VRS) designated
"Enhanced Benefits – Sheriff's Deputy" or "Enhanced Benefits
– Fire" position. The designation of "hazardous duty" also applies
to part-time employees who are performing the same hazardous duties
as full-time employees but are not included in the VRS.
(2) Active
employment. Employees must be employed with Warren County for a minimum
of 90 days and be in an active pay status at the time the payment
is made.
(3) Employment
date. Employees must have been employed by September 1, 2020.
(4) Amount
of payment for full-time employees: $1,000 for each full-time employee.
(5) Amount
of payment for part-time employees: $500 for each part-time employee
who has worked 375 hours or more for the period of March 1, 2020,
through November 30, 2020.
B. Members
of boards and commissions are not eligible for the payment. Constitutional
Officers are eligible for the payment.
C. This one-time
payment shall be for FY 2020-2021 only.

Virginia HB5005 of the 2020 Special Session I included an appropriation
of funding for a one-time $500 bonus payment effective December 1,
2020, for Compensation Board-funded sworn positions in Sheriff's offices,
including the Sheriff and Sheriff's deputies. This one-time $500 bonus
payment shall be paid in December of 2020 to eligible Warren County
Sheriff's Office employees based on the following criteria:
A. Compensation
Board-funded employees only. Eligible employees include the Sheriff
of Warren County and sworn deputies of the Sheriff as identified in
the "Permanent Personnel Detail" Compensation Board record for the
Warren County Sheriff's Office at the time of enactment of this amendment;
and
B. Active employment.
Employees must be in an active pay status at the time the payment
is made.

The 2021 Special Session of the Virginia Legislature included
an appropriation of funding for a one-time $3,000 bonus payment prior
to November 30, 2021, for Compensation Board-funded sworn positions
in Sheriff's offices, including the Sheriff and Sheriff's deputies.
This one-time $3,000 bonus payment shall be paid in November 2021
to eligible Warren County Sheriff's Office employees based on the
following criteria:
A. Compensation
Board-funded employees only. Eligible employees include the Sheriff
of Warren County and sworn deputies of the Sheriff as identified in
the "Permanent Personnel Detail" Compensation Board record for the
Warren County Sheriff's Office at the time of enactment of this amendment;
and
B. Active employment.
Employees must be in an active pay status at the time the payment
is made.

The 2021 Special Session of the Virginia Legislature included
an appropriation of funding for a one-time $3,000 bonus payment prior
to November 30, 2021, for Compensation Board-funded sworn positions
in Sheriff's offices, including the Sheriff and Sheriff's deputies.
The Warren County Board of Supervisors has deemed it appropriate to
authorize the payment of $3,000 to Non-Compensation Board-funded Sheriff's
deputies based on the following criteria:
A. Hazardous
duty employment. Employees must be in Warren County Sheriff's Office
(WCSO) performing hazardous duties and in a Virginia Retirement System
(VRS) designated "Enhanced Benefits - Sheriff's Deputy" position.
The designation of hazardous duty also applies to part-time employees
who are performing the same hazardous duties as full-time employees
but are not included in the Virginia Retirement System.
B. Active employment.
Employees must be in an active pay status at the time the payment
is made.
C. Amount of
payment for full-time employees: $3,000 for each active full-time
employee, except for Compensation Board-funded Sheriff and Sheriff's
deputies who are eligible to receive the one-time bonus (payment of
$3,000 as authorized by separate ordinance).
D. Amount of
payment for part-time employees: $1,500 for each active part-time
employee who has worked 400 hours or more for the period of January
1, 2021, through November 30, 2021.

This incentive pay is to compensate advanced-level providers
who, based upon the FY 2021-2022 pay structure, are not compensated
for advanced certifications. The incentive is utilized to recognize
and reward providers for achieving or maintaining accreditation to
perform life-saving procedures in the field. Without incentive pay,
there is no compensation for Fire and Rescue staff to put in the hours
of study required to maintain certification that is necessary for
regular operations in Warren County:
A. Incentive pay: authorized to all eligible advanced-level providers
and advanced life support officers within the Department:
(1) Active employment. Employees must be in an active pay status at the
time the payment is made.
(2) Employees must not be currently classified as a "Firefighter/Paramedic."
(3) Amount of payment for advanced-level providers: $3,000.
(4) Amount of payment for intermediate-level officers: $4,500.
(5) Amount of payment for paramedic-level officers: $6,000.
B. This one-time payment shall be for FY 2021-2022 only.
