A. On the following bridges and streets or parts of streets, by authority
granted by Section 4902(a) of the Vehicle Code, it shall be unlawful
for any person or persons to drive any vehicle or combination having
a gross weight in excess of the maximum prescribed below for that
bridge or street or part of street, as the case may be:

B. Any person who violates any provision of this section shall be prosecuted
under Section 4902(a) and (g)(1) of the Vehicle Code and, upon conviction,
shall be sentenced to pay a fine $150, plus $150 for each 500 pounds,
or part thereof, in excess of 3,000 pounds over the maximum allowable
weight, and costs.
C. Any person, corporation or association who finds it necessary to
utilize roads with vehicles in excess of the load limit heretofore
set forth, or a steel or metal track vehicle, may petition Council
of the Borough of West Mifflin to grant a variance of said load limit
or a permit to operate the metal track vehicle upon the paved road
surface. Council of the Borough of West Mifflin, in its sole discretion,
may grant a temporary permit for a limited period of time that allows
load limits in excess of the hereto set weight restriction on such
terms and on such conditions as Council, in its sole discretion, may
require, and Council may grant a temporary permit for the use of metal
track vehicles on such terms, conditions or restrictions as Council,
in its sole discretion, may set.
