The Board of Assessment Review of the Town of Newstead previously
established by the Town Board of the Town of Newstead as having three
members shall be increased to five members, which members shall be
appointed the Town Board of the Town of Newstead.
The members must comply with the requirements of § 523
of the Real Property Tax Law which sets forth, among other things,
qualifications for appointment, terms of office, training requirements,
disclosure requirements and recusal requirements.
Each member shall be appointed for a five-year term commencing
on the first day of October and ending on the 30th day of September
five years thereafter, except for the two additional members being
added which shall serve for an initial terms commencing as of the
date of their appointment and ending on the 30th day of September,
2014, and the 30th day of September, 2015, respectively, but thereafter
for five-year terms commencing on the first day of October and ending
on the 30th day of September five years later.
