Every person present at the scene of a fire
or explosion shall be obedient to the orders of firemen and law enforcement
officers in any matter relating to extinguishing the fire, removal
and protection of persons and property endangered by fire, explosion,
smoke or water, freedom of Fire Department and medical personnel and
apparatus to perform their duties or to function properly and the
maintenance of order at or near the scene of fire or explosion, and
it shall be unlawful for any person to disobey any such order of a
fireman or law enforcement officer. Firemen and law enforcement officers
shall have authority to arrest persons who disobey such orders and
to hold them in custody until the fire has been extinguished or the
danger of explosion abated, at which time the violator shall be dealt
with according to law.
It shall be unlawful for any person to intentionally
or negligently set any woods or marshes on fire or set fire to any
stubble, brush, straw or any other substance capable of spreading
fire on lands, whereby the property of another is damaged or put in
jeopardy; and, in addition to any penalty which may be imposed for
violation of this section, such person shall be liable for the full
amount of all expenses incurred in fighting the fire.

Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall be subject to a penalty as set forth in Chapter
1, §
1-11, of the Warren County Code.

In accordance with § 27-30 of the Code of Virginia,
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Warren authorizes the Fire
Chief to establish the position of Fire Marshal and any assistants
deemed necessary within the Warren County Department of Fire and Rescue
Services. The Fire Marshal shall serve as the local Fire Code Official
and local arson investigator, in accordance with the provisions of
§ 27-30 of the Code of Virginia.
