The Board of Commissioners hereby officially creates and establishes the Township of North Huntingdon Planning Commission.

A. 
The Township of North Huntingdon Planning Commission shall consist of seven members.

Editor's Note: This ordinance, in reducing the number of members to seven, also provided for such reduction to be effectuated by allowing the terms of two members to expire and by making no new appointments to fill the vacancy of the next two expired terms.
B. 
Except for elected or appointed officers or employees of the municipality, members of the Commission may receive compensation in an amount fixed by the governing body. Compensation shall not exceed the rate of compensation authorized to be paid to members of the governing body. Without exception, members of the Planning Commission may be reimbursed for necessary and reasonable expenses.[2]

C. 
Elected or appointed officers or employees of the Township of North Huntingdon shall not, by reason of membership on the Planning Commission, forfeit the right to exercise the powers, perform the duties or receive the compensation of the municipal offices held by them during such membership on the Planning Commission.
D. 
All members of the Planning Commission shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners of the Township of North Huntingdon, and the term of each of the members of the Planning Commission shall be for four years or until the successor is appointed and qualified.
E. 
All members of the Planning Commission shall be residents of the Township of North Huntingdon, and, on a Planning Commission consisting of seven members, at least five of the seven members of the Planning Commission shall be "citizen members" who shall not be officers or employees of the Township of North Huntingdon.

All provisions of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, Article II, entitled "Planning Agencies,"[1] and particularly with reference to Sections 201 through and including 211, and as the same are subsequently amended, changed, altered or repealed by the Legislature, are incorporated by reference as fully as though the same are set forth herein at length, inasmuch as the Township of North Huntingdon is bound by the provisions thereof, being: Section 201, entitled "Creation of planning agencies"; Section 202, entitled "Planning commission"; Section 203, entitled "Appointment, term and vacancy"; Section 204,[2] entitled "Members of existing commissions"; Section 205, entitled "Membership"; Section 206, entitled "Removal"; Section 207, entitled "Conduct of business"; Section 208, entitled "Planning department director"; Section 209.1, entitled "Powers and duties of planning agency"; Section 210, entitled "Administrative and technical assistance"; and Section 211, entitled "Assistance."
