The Borough of West View shall become a participant in the social
security program, and the benefits of social security shall be extended
to its employees and officers.
The proper officers of the Borough of West View are hereby authorized,
empowered and directed to execute and deliver to the state agency
a plan and agreement required under the provisions of the Social Security
Act and the aforesaid enabling act to extend coverage to the employees and officers of the
Borough of West View, said plan and agreement to exclude from coverage,
inter alia, services performed in any class of elective positions,
the compensation for which is solely by fees, and services performed
on or after January 1, 1968, by an employee serving on a temporary
basis in case of emergency.
The Treasurer of the Borough of West View is hereby authorized,
empowered and directed to make all required payments into the contribution
fund established by the enabling act and to establish such a system
of payroll deductions from wages of employees and officers as may
be necessary to their coverage under the social security program.
The Council of the Borough of West View does hereby appropriate
from the proper fund of the said Borough the amounts necessary to
pay into the contribution fund, as provided in the enabling act and
in accordance with the plan and agreement.
The proper officers of the Borough of West View are hereby authorized
and empowered to do all things necessary for the continued implementation
of said social security program, in accordance with the provisions
contained in the plan and agreement and the said laws.
Participation in the social security program by the Borough
of West View, pursuant to the plan and agreement authorized herein,
shall commence as of October 14, 1952.
