As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
DRIVEWAY
A defined paved surface or durable wearing surface, such as crushed stone, brick, or other such materials, providing vehicular access to a street and designated off-street parking space(s). A driveway is not a road, street, boulevard, highway, parkway, lawn or landscaped area. If the driveway connects to a curbed street, each end of the driveway connecting to the street must have a curb cut.
FRONT YARD
That area of a property from a front line of a building or structure located on the property to the curb or street, whichever is applicable.

No person shall park a motor vehicle of any type or a camper, trailer or boat with a gross weight of five tons or less and/or a length of less than 20 feet on or upon a front yard of a property, other than in a driveway.
No person shall park a motor vehicle of any type or a camper, trailer or boat with a gross weight of more than five tons and/or a length of greater than 20 feet on or upon the front yard of a property. Such motor vehicles, campers, trailers or boats may be parked behind the front yard or applicable front yard setback line pursuant to the zoning for the area, whichever is further from the street, provided such vehicles and boats are adequately buffered from the view of adjacent property. Such motor vehicles, campers, trailers or boats shall not be parked in the driveway of a property between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Notwithstanding anything in this chapter to the contrary, parking of any camper, trailer or boat on public streets shall be strictly prohibited at all times.

The owner of a property, or a member of the owner's household, may apply for a temporary parking permit for motor vehicles, campers, trailers or boats for a parking arrangement inconsistent with the aforementioned restrictions. The owner or member of the owner's household shall make application to the Police Department of the Township of Berlin for such permits. The information on the permit shall contain the name and address of the property owner, the name and address of the member of the owner's household receiving such permit, where applicable, the make, model, and vehicle identification number or other such identification of the vehicle, the date of issue, and the date of expiration, as well as the signature of an authorized member of the Police Department. Permits may be issued by the Police Department for a time period of up to two weeks for the first permit. No owner or member of the owner's household shall receive more than two permits per year, which may be issued consecutively, for a maximum period of four weeks per year. The parking permit shall be prominently displayed on or in the vehicle in such a manner that the permit is protected from the weather and may be viewed by any person.

Any person violating or failing to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not to exceed 90 days, or both, in the discretion of the court. The continuation of such violation for each successive day shall constitute a separate offense, and the person or persons allowing or permitting the continuation of the violation may be punished as provided above for each separate offense.
