No person shall willfully fail or refuse to comply with any
lawful order or direction of any police officer, firefighter, or uniformed
adult school crossing guard invested by law with authority to direct,
control, or regulate traffic. (ILCS Ch. 625, Act 5, § 11-203)
Every person riding an animal or driving an animal-drawn vehicle
upon a roadway shall be granted all of the rights, and shall be subject
to all of the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle by this
chapter, except those provisions of this chapter which by their very
nature can have no application. (ILCS Ch. 625, Act 5, § 11-206)

It shall be unlawful for any driver or operator of a motor vehicle
who, having been given a visual or audible signal by a peace officer
directing the driver or operator to bring his or her vehicle to a
stop, willfully fails or refuses to obey that direction, increases
his or her speed, extinguishes his or her lights, or otherwise flees
or attempts to elude the officer. The signal given by the peace officer
may be by hand, voice, siren, or a red or blue light. However, the
officer giving the signal shall be in police uniform and, if driving
a vehicle, the vehicle shall be marked showing it to be an official
