If an animal requires immediate veterinary care while in the
care and custody of the Town, the Animal Control Officer or his/her
designee will make reasonable efforts to contact the animal's
owner. If the owner cannot be contacted and the Animal Control Officer
determines, in consultation with a veterinarian, that immediate veterinary
treatment is necessary, the Animal Control Officer may order such
treatment be provided. The owner of the animal shall be responsible
for reimbursing the Town for such treatment, in addition to the costs
of daily care of the animal while in custody of the Town. Such funds
shall be paid into the Animal Care Program Revolving Fund.
