In addition to the provisions set forth in §§
170-2 through
170-6, the standards set forth in the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and the New York State Energy Conservation Construction Code shall be deemed incorporated into the provisions of this chapter as if fully set forth and recited herein.
No tanks or receptacles for the storage of gasoline or any other
explosive liquids having a flash point below 100° F. shall be
erected or maintained above the ground level, and all such storage
tanks forming a part of a gasoline or other products of explosive
liquids shall be buried so that the top of the tank shall be at least
two feet below the ground level.
No tanks for the storage of the above named liquids shall be
located under a sidewalk or beyond the building line without a written
permit from the Board of Trustees.
No stove, forge, torch or other device employing flame or fire,
nor any electrical or other apparatus likely to produce an exposed
spark, except such electrical motors as are the fully enclosed type,
shall be placed within 10 feet of such tanks, unless it be placed
in a room or compartment separated therefrom by a partition constructed
of fire-retarding material and provided with a self-closing fireproof
door.
No system of artificial light, other than incandescent electric
lights, shall be installed in any premises used for the storage of
explosive liquid.
No permit for the storage of gasoline or other explosive liquids
will be issued for any building or enclosure which is occupied as
a tenement house, hotel or lodging house, where paints, varnish or
lacquers are manufactured or kept for sale, or which is situated within
100 feet of the nearest wall of a building occupied as a school, theater
or other place of public amusement or assembly.

Any person committing an offense against any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable as provided in Chapter
1, General Provisions, Article
II, Penalties for Offenses, of the Code of the Village of Lancaster.
