The purpose of this article is to protect public health and welfare, and to minimize the toxic effects of smoking by regulating smoking within the Village of Lancaster Municipal Building.

No person shall smoke or carry a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe, e-cigarettes, vaping devices or other form of smoking object or device within any area of the Village of Lancaster Municipal Building including the Courtroom, Village Council Chambers, meeting rooms, elevators, hallways and restrooms.
"No Smoking" signs or the no smoking symbol shall be prominently and conspicuously posted within or near the entrances of those places where smoking is prohibited by this article. Such sign shall be protected from tampering, damage, removal or concealment.
