A. Accessory structures and garage structures are permitted in rear
and side yards only.
B. Accessory structures and garage structures shall not exceed 20 feet
in building height.
C. Accessory structures and garage structures shall not occupy more
than 50% of the side yard or more than 30% of the rear yard.
D. Accessory structures and garage structures shall not be located less
than three feet from a rear lot line or a side lot line between adjoining
lots.
E. Accessory structures and garage structures shall not be located less
than 20 feet from a street lot line between a lot and a public right-of-way,
including alleyways.
F. Accessory structures and garage structures must be located a minimum
of 10 feet from the principal structure unless compliance with § SPS
321.08 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code is documented and approved
by the building inspector.
G. The principal structure must be constructed before an accessory structure
can be constructed on a lot.
H. If garage doors face away from an alley, a garage may be constructed
within three feet from an alley lot line and a public right-of-way.
I. Accessory structures and garage structures may not exceed the size
of the principal structure.
J. Garage structures must be constructed using standard construction
methods and building materials so that the principal structure and
garage structure are similar in color.
K. Accessory structures and garage structures require a building permit
unless exempted herein.
L. Accessory structures and garage structures under 120 square feet
are exempt from the requirement of obtaining a building permit, however,
the structure must comply with all other regulations stated herein.
M. Minor structures, as defined in §
455-87, are not accessory structures and are exempt from the requirements of this section.
