This chapter may be known as and shall be cited as the "Town
of Lewiston Park Regulation Local Law."
Town of Lewiston parks have been established as open natural
and recreational areas to be utilized for the common pleasure of the
Town of Lewiston citizenry. Said parks provide playgrounds for young
children, sports fields for athletic contests, picnic areas for family
or group gatherings and general open pastoral tracts for overall widespread
enjoyment. It is essential to the safe and pleasant use of Town parks
that annoying, disruptive or dangerous activities be controlled or
forbidden. Therefore, it is the intent of this Town Board through
the enactment of this chapter, and as an exercise of its police powers,
to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Town
and to establish regulations for the use of all Town parks, thereby
ensuring that said parks shall continue to be available for the general
enjoyment of the Town of Lewiston populace.
This chapter shall apply to all territory within the confines
of the Town of Lewiston, except any incorporated village.
