A. Designated Forest Preserve And Wildlife Refuge. Sunset Park
is hereby declared to be a forest preserve and wildlife refuge. "Forest preserve", as used in this Section, is an area where
trees, shrubs and herbs are prohibited from removal, damage or destruction
either willfully or carelessly. "Wildlife refuge", as herein used, shall be a place where wildlife is provided with
shelter and protected from damage and stress.
B. New Construction Prohibited. No new construction (buildings,
parking lots or otherwise) will be permitted in Sunset Park without
the approval of the City Council, in order to maintain the park in
its natural state.
C. Landscaping. No plantings other than border tree plantings
and planting for erosion control shall be permitted within Sunset
Park.
D. Natural Components. The removal of any natural components
of Sunset Park is prohibited. Natural components includes plants,
animals and mineral matter.

Park buildings and facilities shall close when the parks close
at 11:00 P.M. week nights and 11:00 P.M. Saturdays and Sundays, unless
otherwise authorized in writing by the Director.
