There is hereby established the office of Codes Enforcement
Officer of the City of Willard, Missouri.

The office of Codes Enforcement Officer shall be filled by appointment
by the Mayor with the consent and the approval of a majority of the
members or the Board of Aldermen.

A. Building Inspector. It shall be the duty of the Codes Enforcement Officer to see to the enforcement of the City of Willard Residential Code as such may relate or apply to any one- and two-family residential buildings or structures being erected or altered within the City and the enforcement of all other codes adopted in Chapter
500 as such may relate or apply to any commercial buildings or structures being erected or altered within the City.
B. Zoning Regulations And Nuisance Ordinances. It shall be the duty
of the Codes Enforcement Officer to see to the enforcement of the
City of Willard land development regulations, zoning regulations and
nuisance ordinances as such may apply or relate to any building, structure
or development within the City.
C. Stop Order. The Codes Enforcement Officer shall have the power to
order all work stopped on construction or alteration or repair of
all commercial and residential buildings or structures in the City
when such work is being done in violation of any provisions of the
ordinances of the City. Work shall not be resumed after the issuance
of such an order except on the written permission of the officer,
provided that, if the stop order is an oral one, it shall be followed
by a written stop order within an hour. Such written stop order may
be served by any Policeman.
D. Entry Powers. The Codes Enforcement Officer shall have the power
to make or cause to be made an entry into any commercial and residential
buildings, structures or premises where the work of altering, repairing
or constructing any building or structure is going on, for the purpose
of making inspections, upon reasonable notice to the owner.

The Residential Code Inspector shall be paid such compensation
as shall be fixed by the Board of Aldermen.
