Pedestrians shall be subject to traffic control signals as heretofore declared in Sections
315.060 and
315.070 of this Title, but at all other places pedestrians shall be granted those rights and be subject to the restrictions stated in this Chapter.
Pedestrians shall move, whenever practicable, upon the right-half
of crosswalks.
No pedestrian shall cross a roadway at any place other than
by a route at right angles to the curb or by the shortest route to
the opposite curb except in a crosswalk.
No pedestrian shall pass through, around, over or under any
crossing gate or barrier at a railroad grade crossing or bridge when
such gate or barrier is closed or is being opened or closed.

A. It
shall be unlawful for any person to stand on a street or in right-of-way
and actively solicit employment, business or contributions from any
person in a motor vehicle traveling along a street if such person
has not received a permit issued by the City. Any person soliciting
persons in a motor vehicle as described in this Section must meet
the following requirements.
1. Proof of liability insurance must be provided to the City in the
amount of one million dollars per occurrence, two million dollars
aggregate ($1,000,000.00/$2,000,000.00) naming the City of Trenton
as an "additional insured";
2. An executed indemnification agreement in the form supplied by the
City;
3. All persons participating in such solicitation must wear a high visibility
safety vest;
4. All persons participating in such solicitation must be eighteen (18)
years of age or older; and
5. There must be a minimum of three (3) Manual of Uniform Traffic Control
Devices (MUTCD approved traffic markers on each street of the intersection.
One (1) must be located on the centerline and one (1) on each shoulder
of the roadway.
Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this Title, every
driver of a vehicle shall exercise the highest degree of care to avoid
colliding with any pedestrian upon any roadway and shall give warning
by sounding the horn when necessary and shall exercise proper precaution
upon observing any child or any confused or incapacitated person upon
a roadway.
The operator of a motor vehicle overtaking a bicycle proceeding in the same direction on the roadway, as defined in Section
300.010, shall leave a safe distance when passing the bicycle, and shall maintain clearance until safely past the overtaken bicycle.
